Update on Norman's Garden II

Hello All,

Just an update as I’ve been quiet recently. I’ve got some photos to upload of Norman’s Garden, but I haven’t had any time to upload them yet.

I have been up to my eyeballs recently with college work! Oh and my Nana fell over so I spent this weekend just gone driving up to Fleetwood and back visiting her.

Anyhow! I’ve been to B&Q and bought a mini propagator. I know now isn’t a great time, but I thought I’d see anyway so I went and took some cuttings. And I have also planted up some seeds that came with my Amateur Gardening magazine so I now have a room in the house which is quite full of potted plants covered with cling. (No greenhouse here!).

Not sure how the roots are growing as don’t want to disturb them just yet. Think they have been planted about a week.

We are moving into temporary accommodation (a rented house in Alresford) for ten months in mid June so demolition can take place here. Really sad to leave the site albeit temporarily. However I have agreed with Guy that we will leave the azalea bushes in situ until Sept / Oct. My plan then is to prune them back, see if I can move them into big pots, and see if any survive. Propagating throughout the summer as well as trying to move them in the Autumn will hopefully safe some azaleas from Norman’s beautiful garden.

Plus I want to see if I can propagate the beautiful Pieris as well. I have taken some cuttings which are in the propagator now, will take some more until it has to be removed!! (Sob sob)

That’s all my news. Will upload some pics soon.

Best to everyone,
Lucy

Thank you Khayla and Dylandog for your kind thoughts. Yes, Nana is on the mend thank goodness. Just watching Blitz Street on channel 4 - has anyone seen it. It's so sad what the people had to endure 70 years ago. :-(
