New beginnings!

Ah well! The long winter is almost over and the promise of spring has brought with it new life and hope. Since I last wrote in November (November!!), I have cleared my mum’s house and have a buyer, passed the third of my 4 professional exams and I start a new job tomorrow!

The shoots and sprouts in the garden; snowdrops, garlic, hydrangea amongst others reflect my general mood of optimism and potential.

The rain has provided a fantastic opportunity for some close-up photography in the garden. The raindrops gathering on the piles of netting (yes I know that I should have put it all away in the shed but anyway…) looked stunning as did the drenched petals of the primula…

I’ve also taken a few plants in containers from my mum’s place and will settle them in my garden properly once the weather calms down a bit.

Meanwhile, hope to be able to check in more often now to GOY and hear all the news, see all of the fabulous photos and pick up more hints and tips..

Until then, all the best.

Glad to hear things have moved on for you Lostplot. We shall all be glad to see the back of this winter but even rain provides us with photo opportunities if we look close enough as your great pics show. Good luck with the new job.

Hi Joanella, it's a long story .......but not of my choice, hope to be back doing a bit more soon....I have severe GoY withdrawal symptons!

You've been doing the same as me - clearing out mother's house. I also have some plants to bring here.
I liked your rain photos. All we get on here lately are snow photos and they are so depressing. I've given up looking at them. The rain is much better I think ( but there's no accounting for taste )

Thanks for the lovely comments and support. Joanella: I use a Canon EOS 400D which I got for a big birthday a couple of years ago. It's got loads of features that I don't really know how to use but, as I am really interested in close up views of things, it doesn't matter so much.....
