Fed up....Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

I am SO sick of this wind and it’s ruined my day today.

I popped into the village for some bits and bobs and bought myself a lovely phygelius and an osteospermum too. When I got home, I met the postie at the door with my pack of 5 giant fuchsia plugs. Great, I thought. I’ll pot them up and pop them in the mini greenhouse. Also the phygelius and osterspermum for a couple of days until this relentless wind dies down. I had a big smile on my face….I mean, come on. New plants…who wouldn’t have? :o)

Anyway, I went out back and this is what greeted me!!!!!! At least, a portion of the mess that greeted me.

GUTTED! .

Now, I didn’t have a lot in here, I know, but what I did have was doing really well. As far as I can work out, I’ve lost all my lettuce, broccoli and sprouts seedlings (which had germinated) as well as my marjoram, lots of parsley, lots of basil and all my coriander. I’ve managed to salvage a half dozen basil plants.

My tomatoes and peppers hadn’t germinated yet, so they’re now just a soggy mess and no way will I be able to find them amongst the soil.

I know these greenhouses aren’t very stable, but I did have bricks all round the bottom, so I am truly disappointed. Not least, because I blame myself. For a week now, I’ve been going to the hardware store to get some pegs for the tags in the skirt and never got round to it. That’ll teach me to do today what can be done today, won’t it?

I say again………. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Oh Llew, that is so disappointing for you. Get down to that store and pick up your pegs before you put anything else in the greenhouse. I wonder if you have any seed left so you can start again - I do hope so. If not, I am sure we can rally round and send you some. I know I have some tomato and salad seeds still, but no herbs I'm afraid.

Oh darling! I'm sooooo sorry for your losses, how sad and how annoying too! I would be grrrrr'ing too!! I've got some lettuce and tomato seeds that I've got today from the BBC dig in campaign. These are no good to me coz I got an email from them saying I wasn't successful. So, I went straight to the gc and bought some! Let me know if you'd like them?

You could also buy a few plugs and pretend the accident never happened?

OH ! What a shame Llew. Can't you salvage any of the seedlings. It would be a pitty to discard them.

Ha, ha. Two swear boxes are paying or 6 month world cruise, methinks, lol. (I wish!).

Thanks for the lovely offers of some seeds, peeps, but I'll be fine. I do have some of the veggie ones left. The only thing I've got no more of are my bell peppers as there was only 5 of them in the pack.

I've no herb seeds left though and what's upset me about that is that they were the ones my daughter bought me for Christmas. However, I have managed to salvage a few and when I have a proper clean up tomorrow, maybe a few more will not be knocked about too much. Fingers crossed.

Is it too late to start again or am I still OK?

I'm definitely off to the hardware store first thing though, that's for sure, lol.

So sorry. After all the good work?? I've had 3 weeks of bad weather. 2 decent days out of the 3 weeks..1st was sunny but blowing a gale and the other is today which is nice but I had made plans so didn't get any gardening done.
