Fennel

I have to give this fennel a gold star this year.
It was quite beautiful….as beautiful as fennel can be.

I very seldom use it as a spice but like it as a plant.

I grow quite a bit of herbs. Always have a bouquet of herbs on our deck table. I have an area where they can grow freely. They do not need my attention. Most people grow them in pots as they would take away the whole garden if you let them.

It's nice to see one of my favorite herbs in plant form - looks nice with your crocosmia.

I agree with Eileen and Paul, very attractive combination of plants. The top pic is really effective. Love the lushness mixed with the orange crocosmia.

Meant to add, love the taste of fennel!

It makes a beautiful show with the crocosmia. Was that accidental pairing or planned? Either way, it works well.:)

A wonderful combination of green textures there. The fennel + crocosmia is attractive.

Good pairing, I'm a fan of fennel just left to get on with it, and insect friendly as well

Fennel is great in all kinds of meat dishes - beef stew, meat loaf, Italian meatballs, roasted chicken. Best to use before it flowers.

Looking so lovely and blends really well with the crocosmia.

The rhubarb certainly does 'hem' it well. Very good companion planting. It all makes a lovely show.
