Is it spring or is it Autumn !

Well, we did need some rain, but it can get tiresome when we have it for days on end! I guess it gives us time to look on here and view the lovely pictures and get ideas. Lets hope we get a nice balance of rain, sunshine and warmth for the summer!

What a great view to look at and our gardens really have been crying out for the rain.

I know how much the rain was needed and I too longed for it to rain!
How fickle and hard to please am I?
After 3 days of it, I am ready for it to stop now and make way for sunshine!!!

Lol, they say we gardens are never happy with the weather, I'm the same, my lawn had started to get cracks in it where so dry, but now I just want to get out there and tackle all those weeds that have come up with all this rain.

We've had just two days of rain but its dry again today. I'm hoping that the rain we have had will be enough to get some late sown broad beans germinated - they've been sitting in the dry biding their time for ages...

very welcome it was too for my garden in Yorkshire. glorious sunshine today but forecast for more rain tomorrow.
downside....... lots of weed seeds will germinate now :o(

Raining hard here in N. Lincolnshire, but much needed even after yesterdays downpour.

We were getting desperate, so yes I was pleased when it started, didn't mind the next day as my waterbutts were still rather low, yesterday 3days of non-stop rain, I too had decided enough was enough, sunshine today so beggar the housework, gardening was my priority, lawns sorted yet again, also had a planting session in back and front gardens, good job I did, started raining again at teatime and don't think it knows when to stop, wellies are needed to wade down the yard, according to my weather app the next fine day is not until next Monday, sigh, hope its got it wrong, gone from no signs of slugs and snails to thousands of the beggars, hope our thrush is ready for some easy pickings...

Hope you had the lovely sunshine we had today. The chilly, edgy wind had disappeared at last.

After 7 weeks of sunshine we were desperate for some rain. Our water barrel was emptied ages ago and I had refilled it several times using the hose - to let the water stand a while, so it was better for the plants. The greenhouse is so far away from a water source I bought a small water butt from A--- to place outside it. There is no rhone pipe to feed water in to the barrel but I have used the hose to fill that too. I am amazed at how much water it takes to keep the plants happy. I could not plan work in the garden because the forecasters kept forecasting wet weather but I managed to do lots of jobs which do need dry days - like painting the garden furniture. It was nice to enjoy being outside in the fresh air even if it did hold a nippy wind from the North east. Weeds, slugs and snails are going to undo a lot of my hard work if I do not get out there again pronto.
