It feels like a life time.

Hi All
In my last blog I said bye bye as I set off on a great adventure to travel the Nile and all the related ancient sites. That seemed a life time ago, and although there were some high lights it turned out to be an awful experience, but I won’t bore you with those details.
One place we visited was Kitcheners Botanical gardens which is an Island in the Nile at Aswan. To get there we travelled by felluca (sail boat), the gardens gave welcomed shade as in the shade it was 45 degrees – a little hot.

The gardens were not particularly floral but more of a collection of trees from around the world.
My favourite part of the holiday was when the boat was moving, with local children on the bank of the nile waving, water buffalo cooling off in the water, and seeing some amazing towns that seem to step back in time.

On the last day I even braved a hot air balloon something I’d do again.
We returned home, exhausted and poorly and its taken several weeks to get over the experience.

Moving on I’ve been spending gardening time, winterising everything – I lost too many plants last year and I’m determined not to have this happen again.
Also on returning home – I found my eldest daughter moved back home, having left her long term partner – they were getting married on Christmas Eve – so those plans are out of the window – so when the going gets tough the tough get going – we have just spent the wedding fund on a visit to Florida and we all go on the 3rd Nov – so it’ll be some time before I’m back on the website so I hope you are all well and gardening happy!! KAY

You've had quite a time of unhappy experiences and I hope when you travel to Florida you will find everything going better for you all, particularly your daughter.

On your return from holidays, check in again and hopefully you will have lots to tell us. I hope you also succeed in keeping your plants healthy through the winter.

Enjoy your holiday, Kay. :)

Have a nice time, don't worry about the plants, nature will look after them for you. You can always give them a helping hand when you return. :o))

That's a good result, Kay. It's terrible to experience a bad holiday and the substantial compensation will go a ways to erasing all your bad memories, I hope.

Happy garden centre shopping :)
