I’ve been away this past week to spend several days with my parents and family. It was just what I needed after many weeks of working through a tiring time. OH couldn’t take any time off, he’s quite busy.
I took some pics when I could of some pretty autumn colour. ๐Ÿ‚
I do love the season, its quite striking. Apologies as pics not very clear, taken with my phone..
It was so lovely to spend time with my parents and the family, catching up. The weather was fair, some blue skies, although, it could be cloudy in a short space of time. It only rained as I drove homewards, fortunately.
Cosy evening with OH and little Eve our cat, not quite log burner time yet..but definitely soon. ๐Ÿงฃ๐Ÿงค๐Ÿ”ฅ

I can almost smell the season in your photos Kate. It is lovely spending time with family. That reminds me I will have to get up to Sunderland soon to see my brothers.

Thank you, Ange. I often don't appreciate it until I visit each time. It's very colourful at this time of year.
The journey there and back was fortunately uneventful! Not like your recent holiday, sadly. The journey sounded really stressful..

Aw, many thanks, Eileen! You're right, sometimes modern phones can take some nice pics.
I had a friend years ago, I trained with her, she could "smell" Christmas approaching!
Hopefully you'll get the chance to go up and visit your brothers on the North East Coast soon ๐Ÿคž

Nice to see photos of Ayrshire Kate, they are lovely.
My late partner Beryl, her grandfather was from Ayrshire (grandmother from Aberdeen)

Unfortunately we never got to visit either of the areas :(

My sister lives up there at Barrhill inland from Girvan. Do you know it?

Wonderful Kate. Especially the last pic!

Thank you. Hywel. I'm pleased you liked the Ayrshire pics. So, Beryl had some Scottish genes then, sometimes, time flies so quick, we don't get the chance to visit places we'd like to. (Especially if it's family connections)
I've never been to Aberdeen. Been many places up north, but, not had the chance, yet...

Thanks Rose, pleased you like all the autumn foliage. Home safe and sound. Resting today and back to work tomorrow. It's pouring with rain, so no chance of pottering outside : -(

Another time hopefully.

Hi Sue, I don't know Barrhill, but I do know Girvan. I looked on the map, not too far from the coast.
I recall you mentioning your sister lived in Ayrshire.

Aw, thank you, Klahanie. I'm pleased you liked the photos. I enjoy your autumnal/Fall colour too, your pics are beautiful.

Yes Kate, Beryl's father had brothers and sisters born in Dunoon Argyllshire, but he was born after the family moved to Swansea. I wish she had done one of those DNA tests.

Beautiful autumn pics Kate, gorgeous vivid trees, they're lovely.
I like the sound of the Spirit of Scotland, yes the last pic is stunning. Hope you recharged your batteries..

Sounds impelling, Hywel! Family history and trees are fascinating!
American navy were stationed there from the early 60s.

Thank you, Janey, that's kind of you. Yes, it's a very scenic area. Colour is really something at this time of year.
Batteries are recharged and ready to go!
