Apologies it’s not gardening! Again.
One of my yoga teachers had a 3 hr yoga therapies day at her house this morning.
Apart from yoga, we had sound vibration therapy and flower therapy/aromatherapy. She discussed the Dr Bach remedies and their uses.
It was just perfect, a fab 3 hrs enjoyed! There were 10 of us including Charissa, our teacher.
As an amateur gardener, it was interesting to hear about flower therapy. You can collect certain flowers from the garden, depending on your needs, add them to a bowl of spring water and place them in the ‘sunshine’ or sunlight. The liquid infusion is then sieved and poured into a small bottle, with a dropper used to apply the final solution. Each flower has a different property and ‘healing’ advantage. I won’t ramble on..it’s an individual thing, not to everyone’s interests.
The large gong was interesting! Vibration therapy…another personal choice or belief.
The yoga session is always great though, I’d love to do more than 3 evenings, but, OH may feel a little lonely! πŸ˜„

Aw thank you, Julia! I have to admit, yes, so relaxing and definitely a zen 3 hrs!
She even had a snack break, lots of fruit, herbal tea and umpteen bottles of water!
She did have some other snack alternatives, plus coffee and tea.
The sound volume from the gong! Crikey! It was loud at times.
I'm interested in trying the flower therapy 😊

That's interesting Kate, I can imagine the Gong therapy would bring you back to the moment with a jolt! Did the vibration travel through the body? Suppose it could be like being retuned..
definitely would go for that!

it's a lovely thought to relax Kate . I had trouble sleeping and used hypo cds which were great for myself . I do get anxiety attacks

Kate, lovely to hear about the benefits of yoga and plants/flowers. I myself do yoga, reflexology and deep tissue massage to help me with all my menopausal aches & pains! The vibration therapy sounds intriguing….

Sounds like a relaxing 3 hours. I used to live not far from Dr Bach's home in Oxfordshire (of the homeopathic flower remedies) which we visited many years ago. A pretty little place with a garden full of flowers. I think it is still in use as a a centre.

3hours well spent, I think. I believe all 3 to be beneficial. You can receive vibration therapy on the NHS sometimes. They use a machine though to put the vibrations into the affected part:muscle, joint, whatever. Used sometimes with MS sufferers.
Humming is good for bronchial disease but it has to be continued for 5 mins to be effective. Cats purring has a
similar effect, good for their health.(Vibrations produced from within, rather than without).

Thanks Janey, yes the gong was part of the sound bath therapy. It was very interesting. We lay down on our mats and she went through a sequence with the gong. Very relaxing indeed. You could feel the vibration, a strange experience.

I'm sorry to hear you struggle with sleeping and anxiety, Paul. It must be terrible for you. I find yoga, especially the evening classes help with sleep. A friend uses the hypnotherapy on YouTube. She says it helped her, plus the yoga.
CBT can be helpful for anxiety, not sure if you have looked at this?

Amsterdam, a lady after my own heart! Yoga and pilates are definitely beneficial, in all ways. Physically and mentally, I wouldn't be without it now. You're spot on re The menopausal symptoms and how these therapies help. I'm at the very end of the menopause now - thank heavens. The symptoms are dreadful aren't they. Anything that helps is wonderful.
The sound bath, vibration therapy was definitely something I'll try again. It's so relaxing and your stresses seem to float away!!!!!πŸ‘πŸ€—

Ange, it was worth every pound! Our nhs trust has introduced yoga, pilates and shortly, sound bath/vibration therapy. Reasonable price. I'll be booking in, definitely!
Another place on the list to visit, you're lucky to have lived near to Dr Bach's home and garden. I imagine it's a very pretty place as you say.

Thanks for your feedback, Josee. My friend mentioned "tapping" last night. Someone she knows uses this method. Humming is interesting too, I'll look that one up.
Cats, yes, I agree. Eve lies on my chest and purrs beautifully.. definitely one of the best therapies.

CBT is definitely worthwhile too. x
