I like seedheads. They add so much to the winter garden, early frosts on them… But to be honest this is the weirdest one I have ever seen. It belongs to Paeonia mascula. The only place I have seen it was in Geffrye Museum Garden in East London. They appear in July.
According to Bjs: Red are for the birds Black ones are fertile.

That is some really good Pictures,Am I right they are not yours?if they were i would suggest sowing some while they are still soft,sometimes they will by pass the long dormancy period associated with theses seed,I have had them root and shoot in 6 months.
