what not to do on valentines day !!

hi all, well even though weather still cold & some rain we decided to make a bit of a start on the new plot last weekend , i moved the pond from the bank and put it on the plot as i think we are putting a rockery on the bank if i can find enough rocks that is or go begging round the site..
from here

to here…

ben dug out yet another bin submereged !! into ground full of bricks??

not so easy

this is how far down it went from hand to end of the rake…

i made a start on clearing the bank at the back of plot

a makeshift fence went up at the back of bank

where i planted 2 climbing roses one at each end i hope they take….

looking a bit better now..(im not though ) i scrubbed the moss covered wall,we did not know this path was there it was grown over with grass.

we are going to have the rockery on the top part of this bank , brace the front edge and flatten the bottom bit , may move the shed on it but plans keep changing every time we go up..

.

not a bad 4 hours work with a few chats with neighbours in between..
AHHHHHHHH

not the most romantic valentines day i have had but still a nice one ….hope you enjoyed your little visit..

I do admire you Joanella, going out in this cold weather, you must be tough - and determined. I hope you felt pleased with yourselves after all that. I can imagine that in Spring and Summer it will be hard to tear yourselves away from your plot.

Well done on getting all that work done on such a cold day, even though it was Valentine`s day. I bought that white climbing rose and thought it a great bargain. Now all I have to do is plant it but in my soaking wet heavy clay it won`t be at all easy.

It seems that Mad dogs and englishmen not only go out in the midday sun, but in the most appalling of weathers, having said that all power to your elbow, I think this has got to be a wonderful way of sharing your time on Valentines day, after all you will be able to stroll round and look at what all your hard work and time spent has achieved, and hopefully we on goy will go on enjoying not only this great blog but more pics as things progress. Good luck.
