Everyone laughs at the Babyliss foot spa I've got ... it comes out every now and then ... when my aching feet need soothing !

25 Oct, 2010

cheers Mavis,it is interesting it doesnt sound nice when you say the fish are eating dead skin etc but it benefits the fish too...and your feet feel lovely and soft after it....

25 Oct, 2010

It's a great way to get a half hour of peace ... just make sure somebody's in the house to answer the doorbell or the phone !

25 Oct, 2010

my chill out time is on the allotment -the only place i can get any peace & quiet -even then the phones going..

25 Oct, 2010

Leave the phone at home ... or forward your calls to another .... then it's just you and Nature ! Turn time back 10 years ... I never had a mobile then ... wonder if you did ?

25 Oct, 2010

may have just about had one then,a pay as you go brick lol..all my grandchildren over 8 yrs have them ..Sam age 9 asked for an iphone for xmas today from his mum ..now dont ask me cause i dont know what they do but i bet they are not cheap.

25 Oct, 2010

I expect they cost hundreds ... pleased in a way that I have no grandchildren yet ... but that only means things will be even more expensive when I am a grandmother !

25 Oct, 2010

I just love my Babyliss too,Shirley,...much cheaper than your fishy friends in the long run Joanella..and so relaxing and mostly private..! get one on your xmas list pronto..:o))

I though the title was indicating that you had gone to get some fish though I didn't know Wigan for particularly known for its fish!

What a surprise I got when I saw the photos of real, live fish nibbling away at people's feet!

26 Oct, 2010

Hi Balcony , the fish are called Garra Rufa also known as doctor fish and are fresh water fish that originated from turkey,i dont know if there is a website for them but the name of the company is ..Dipin the legend of doctor fish..

26 Oct, 2010

I remember reading about them sometime ago, they were also on a programme on TV once where they were used to treat people with Psoriasis.

nice one joan, iv heard of this before and watched a documentry on a girl who suffered exema or something like that, and she was told about these fish and people bath with them, they eat at the dead skin and help people with such conditions, and it worked, bet it felt strange, not been to wigan in years, baz working there on saturday, not sure i could pass on a full day on my own there though, maybe another time,

26 Oct, 2010

hi Sandra ,its the first time i have been to Wigan town centre, (been to Wigan pier years ago ) if you have not been for years i am sure it will have changed a bit as there are new indoor shopping centres... just like the ones that are going up everywhere i suppose.. few indoor places actually,i could easy spend a good few hours there.im busy this weekend or else i could have gone on the train and met you..maybe another weekend if Baz is working there...

26 Oct, 2010

that would be good joan ;o))
i went to wigan pier once and was so dissapointed as living in blackpool a pier is a pier not a board walk lol

27 Oct, 2010

i went to the pier on a day out & went into a mock classroom where the public just went in & sat at desks ..there was a teacher with a big cane..who treated everyone as kids shouting at us i was scared stiff lol :o)

27 Oct, 2010

I think Wigan Pier has become less popular than when it was first opened. I seem to remember viewing a tv programme indicating they were having financial difficulties and the canal area was difficult to maintain. It didn't look very lively as we passed it a few months ago. Has anyone visited Wigan Pier recently?

I remember taking our kids when they were small and seeing the classroom with the strict teacher! Scary, I'll say!

27 Oct, 2010

Hi J,i have not hear of anyone going there for a long time now, as you say not as popular..maybe no one wants telling off now and being told to sit up straight lol :o)

27 Oct, 2010

I remember the classroom well..we took my late mother in law some years ago,and the teacher called her a Jezebel, because she was wearing red nail varnish !!.We all laughed so much,so a good day out....

27 Oct, 2010

ha ha Bloomer, good memories for you there..yes it was a good day out..:o))

28 Oct, 2010
