July in a Snapshot

Well here we are approaching August – where did the summer go – hopefully we shall have some sunshine back which will last until the autumn.

Autumn bulb catalogues are popping through the door and as always I shall be tempted and so it all starts again – we are getting mixed weather in Shropshire – sunshine and heavy downpours – the begonias don’t like the heavy rain but the weeds do – I have ordered a electric patio clearing brush from Coopers but it has not arrived as yet it looks good in the order book – it is for cleaning moss etc from in between the bricks on the driveway. I have taken a few shots around the garden so here we go

The flamboyant begonias have doubled in size from last year – I also have white flamboyants – they are in their first year so are smaller and are still in the greenhouse – the hostas are showing slug damage although I put the slug preventative wool around them

Old friend – always ready to please !

This Agathapanthus plant has been in situ for a number of years and never bloomed until now – what a surprise! – the plant holder is from The Ironworks at Oswestry

Across the pool – we heard a frog in there the other night !

The bees love this bed – I could watch them for hours

Always lots to do – and it needs a good tidy up

Shot taken from the other side – it is untidy I know !

Streps and Orchids in the conservatory

Favourite strep Polka Dot

!

Best wishes Jane

I love your pool area, Jane, although it's all lovely and colourful.
Regarding the weeds liking the rain , I think they like all weather, regardless...they just never stop growing it seems, do they?

It all looks wonderful to me Jane. We are having a lot of rain here in Scotland......it is depressing as it is cold too.

Did you mean the fuchsia part two blog Jane? Some of them are being a bit dozy getting going which is why it hasn't appeared yet.
