The Bees love them Jacque , I can,t understand why the birds attack the yellow crocus,s the petals are scattered over the ground , why is that ?

Lincslass, the reason the birds attack your yellow crocuses is they need to eat the carotine (sp.?/not sure the exact word) for their plummage. This then attracts the opposite sex to mate with them. So, you're helping the wildlife. I bought some purple AND yellow crocuses for this very reason. I think it's particularly sparrows that go for them, but don't quote me on that!!! (and sparrows are getting rarer!)

Thanks for sharing these wonderful pics Jacque! I have seen a bumblebee twice in my garden this weekend and wondered what was attracting them. It must have been my purple crocuses too!!
