Jacque,
Sometimes in a Nursery I'll sniff almost every plant trying to find the scent in the air that hit my nostrils with such a delicious fragrance that I have to have it. So there I go sniff, sniff here and sniff, sniff there until I find it. I also seem to always sniff out other wonderful scents as I'm sniffing for the one; and go home with a car load of different scents!!

Sometimes you can follow your nose and it,s ages before you track down THE ONE , quite often it,s such a tiny flower , maybe thats why it has a strong scent so that you can,t miss it .

Beautiful photos Jacque! Yes, we all need to stop & smell the flowers while we can, for they are all too soon just a photo on GoY, lovely to behold, but without a 'scratch & sniff' button, lol!!

Just looking at the photos brings back memories of some of the plants that were with us earlier in the year. The garden has a totally different smell in the Autumn too, I love it.

dosn't do my hay fever any favours!!......steve

I am with you there Steve... I suffer dreadfully all through the year, but it does not stop me from sniffing, after taking the pills I cannot smell anything. Tried the old vaseline, does work for a few hours! Who ever heard of gardeners with hay fever, I ask you?

I shall be planting my sweet peas this week (amongst lots of other tasks!) but how could I manage without them? The everlasting ones that haven't got any fragrance are a complete disappointment! Give me a bunch of sweet peas in the house to waft that perfume about! Can't wait!

How beautiful Jacque! I can smell the sweet peas the minute I walk out the door and no perfume is sweeter.

I'm a confirmed plant-sniffer. My faves are sweet peas in summer - which reminds me I really must get 'Painted Lady' sometime as that's amazingly strong-scented - and Sarcococca in winter. My roses aren't anything special in scent, although the climbing one isn't bad on a hot day.
