Survived the storms

Hi everyone,
Well we have survived all the storms Yorkshire has had over the past weeks. Thankyou to those of you whe sent me private messages asking how things have gone. My daughter is now in the process of claiming on her insurance for the damage caused to her house and garden, but will take some time before she gets back to normal. As for my garden, it has taken a battering, but nature has a way of compensating, our home grown veg have been a great success although the tomatoes are not as good as previous years because of the low light levels, even my greenhouse ones are struggling.
I seem to have spent the past few weeks just clearing up and cutting down all the damaged plants. I have taken a few days off work this week hopefully to do some gardening and guess what, yes, it’s raining, we are having thunderstorms this afternoon, I did manage to tend to a few garden jobs this morning and you never know tomorrow may be sunny and dry, or is that wishful thinking on my part. I have been popping in to look at all the lovely photos that have been posted on the site and to catch up on what everyone is doing.Today I have had time to post a few photos myself.
I am giong to the RHS Tatton Park show on Saturday, its my freinds favourite, last year the weather was unbelievably hot, I don’t think this year will be the same, my wellies are ready and waiting.

Hi Holly, pleased you have survived the storms ok. Hope your daughter
gets settled again soon. We had a humdinger of a storm a couple of nights ago, hail the size of golf balls, the sky went black and a tornado
swept the coast just below us. Lots of folk lost their conservatory and greenhouse roofs.

Reading all the news about the awful weather farther south, I feel so guilty, because I have moaned about the lack of heat and sun to bring on the garden. We have had nothing remotely like bad weather in comparison, and I sincerely hope that your daughter and yourself can repair the damage, and move forward.
