changing temperatures

this lovely weather and high temps are confusing the plants in the garden .they don,t know whether to go to sleep for the winter or bounce back to life again . It was so hot in the garden today that I had to find a shady spot but just a week ago I had to have the heating on in the house as it was quite chilly !!
this photo shows how different it has been over the last 2 weeks

I was going to tidy up the garden and cut down all the stuff that was past its best but some of it has taken a 2nd spout of flowering!!!!

so i have decided just to enjoy the weather and also the flowers and tidy up later

contrary to what the bbc weather tell you Costas ,it doesnt always rain here in fact we get lots of lovely weather which may be a few degrees less than London but is still pretty good lol

Ooh! Lucky you! Your flower's are looking fabulous, Helen! I was just telling Pixi that the rain is pounding down! I'll have to go and rescue some seedlings that are sitting outside the greenhouse, before they come floating past the window in an Ark!!

Helen its been really hot here for a few days now, I`m on the Lincs borders with Rutland, Cambs and Northants, its even warm after dark, very nice in fact.
As regards the flowers, well I keep deadheading and they keep going, I`m popping my bulbs carefully in amongst them, same with my wallflowers and forget-me-nots, come next spring there will be no ryhme nor reason but I refuse to take them out whist they are still flowering, it`ll be colourful though, lol.
You still have plenty of colour and your Heuchera`s look really healthy, I have mine in the ground but seeing the size of yours I`m wondering if they would be better off in pots next year....

mines have been great in their pots and hopefully with a wee bit TLC over the winter they will be ok next year.
It is still very warm now at 9pm but I think our forecast is for rain tomorrow :o((

What a beautiful array of flowers still in bloom in your garden Helen, it would be a shame to cut them down while they are enjoying their 2nd flush so you enjoy them too;0)

That pink Scabious is a pretty one ... such unseasonal weather right now, Helen ... I have Hellebores, Clematis (which should bloom June-July) and Primulas in full bloom ... drove along the seafront yesterday only to find many folk sunbathing ... seafront traders must be very happy! ... :o)
