Leasure on a Cool Afternoon

All across the midday, the thick cool shade of the old front trees move across the garden, in late August bringing a little whiff of crisp chill air across the soil. Up on the porch, the drafts pass beneath. All the raw wood holds the warmth of the morning sun still, creating a little oasis speckled with sunshine.
Being away to work most days, and that our sun moves quickly and unusually, many spots come only a few days twice a year. I couldn’t tell you where it will be day to day. This I had forgotten, but Bianca seemed to have waited all year, knowing where it would be very well.
The world has disappeared. With the pillows and the roses, she was well out of reach, and basking in that sudden sunshine. I thought, oh, a bath how lovely…
Then she rolls, from one side to the other, slow and languid, feet in the air and finding this such a joy, she stops middair and wriggles her back against the rug, big furry paws waving. A door slams across the drive.
Stunned for a moment, the blazing light of the sunspot overwhelms again. Back to the rolling…..
Flipping, wriggling…
Bathing…..maybe wriggle upsidedown
Whew, that sun is bright, sooo bright. She drifts for a little while, all fluffed up and eyes pinched shut. I’m wondering if the patch of catnip has grown too large.
The bathing begins again, but already, the shadow of the next tree is touching some fur. Shadows here move sideways.
Suddenly she realizes the sun is going. She stops, she looks. Aaha! Dad your chasing the sun away! Stop watching, put the camera away!
Then she slipped away, leaving the peace rose in peace. ;-)

Beautiful kitty! LOVE those big fat black furry paws!! Just a big fuzzy hug on four legs! And so shiny, that's one big happy cat...

Thank you all for reading. She is so shy she seldom relaxes like this, even with me out with her. The bigger plants this year have given her more confidence, more to stand by or hide behind. This really captures the thin cool days of our summers end, where summer looks like it continues, but it is almost gone away.

Previledged Bianca, the spot wasn't just sunny... the fragance of the roses, the color of all your plants surrounding the steps...
Wouldn't be great if we could post some records as well as we post photos...?

Thank you Aleyna. She loves the garden so much. I'm sure she does what she can to garden as well. I wish she would never try to water them......lol. I do collect record in my garden though I don't keep up like I should. Tell where it was, how it did, how the summer went and then label he entry with the year. That really helps me keep organised.

I need to get used to the video button. I watched a bird migration the other day taking shots I knew couldn't express the magnitude of what was happening, and the record button was right next to the shutter button. That would have been perfect. I saw a video post by Noseypotter once, but that is all I've seen on here. It posted strange, but you could watch it. I don't know how.
