Rosa 'Blue to You' bud

Rosa 'Blue to You' bud (Rosa floribunda)

I'll be very lucky if this beautiful bud opens, but it's still a pleasure to see.

Lovely Spritz. Snow on the way? We've had it today.

Rhapsody in Blue is lovely Alex

Oh, you'll love it, Alexandramou - I've got that, as well. Funnily enough that has a bud on it as well, but it's PINK!

When it flowered first, the blooms were a deep mauve. Lovely. :-))

Oh PAM... Please keep it down there - I don't want it, thanks!

I love Rhapsody in Blue as well and Blue for You or Blue to you, is another one on my wish list. Isn't this even bluer...lovely!

I'm all excited about seeing the first bud Pamd....long wait still.

I would be so upset if I saw a pink bud instead of that beautiful mauve color Spritzhenry.

I'm not, because of the time of year. I think it's faded because of the cold. I'm sure it'll go back to its lovely deep colour next summer. :-)))

This is a lovely one Spritz....R in B...is stunning Alex...I have 2 in pots, beautiful...:>)

Yes, not like thinking you've got a Ginger Syllabub and it turns out to be a beautiful scarlet rose!! Still, gives me a chance to try something else! The roses that come out in the colder weather are often strange colours aren't they. At my front window I have loads of buds of The Pilgrim. Unfortunately the window faces South East, so they are probably frozen solid! They still look nice though!

My 'Champagne Moment' has buds, but I could see from close-up that they're not going to open. :-((

Pity you can't preserve this beautiful bud to enjoy for ever!

Lucky you Motinot....mine is in the garden. I see a lot of blue rose pictures beeing posted this coming spring.

I think you might be right - as long as it's not 'Blue Moon' - I don't like that much. :-(

Such a pretty colour Spritz.....

Thanks, Milky. :-)

Lovely, you have not had any frost then?

26 Nov, 2010

That's lovely Spritz...Does it have a nice fragrance?

26 Nov, 2010

Dd - three light ones...one of which was last night. I haven't been out to look at the bud this morning, so I just hope it's still hanging on. :-/

Gilli - yes, but not strong. Obviously not in November, though!

Beautiful colour

I forgot to see if my Rhapsody in Blue buds have opened Spritz, must remember to go take a look. Your rose looks very pretty. My new rose 'Gentle Hermione' arrived today and I just got it in the ground before we get the snow that's promised us any day now. Fingers crossed it will survive the cold!

26 Nov, 2010

Really pretty, Spritz! My experience with the "blue" roses is that they only start to approach blue when the weather is cool and gray--hard luck for us desert dwellers!

27 Nov, 2010

Oh Bell - I don't expect you got it planted, did you? Dis you get snow? We had a light fall here - not enough to cover the grass even, but I'm sure that further north and elsewhere it must be worse. :-((

Thanks, Tug. The UK fits the bill for blueness, then! LOL.

27 Nov, 2010

That's true up here too Tug. The colours are usually deeper and more intense in the spring and fall when it's cooler.

27 Nov, 2010

Interesting! :-)

27 Nov, 2010

We got the snow the night before last Spritz, but I had already planted the Rose as the ground wasn't too hard. Just have to hope for the best now I think. Still snow on ground but no more downfalls as yet, fingers crossed.

28 Nov, 2010

Our snow went yesterday, but the temps went to -6 overnight, and haven't been higher than -1.5 today. Nasty.

I expect your rose will be OK - they're pretty hardy.

28 Nov, 2010

They are Spritz!
