Pseudopanax ferox - 2016

Pseudopanax ferox - 2016 (Pseudopanax ferox)

Planted eight years ago, this weird New Zealand tree is now some 12 feet tall. This is the juvenile form that evolved to protect it from the predations of flightless birds in its homeland; when it feels safe it turns into a more conventional tree.
