Allspice Tree Flowering (Pimenta dioica)

Allspice Tree Flowering (Pimenta dioica) (Pimenta dioica (Allspice))

This tree is such an aromatic tree, which I use in cooking a lot (the leaves not the berries). It puts out its flowers spikes in January and flowers in April and May and the berries of commerce are ready to pick in July. Photo taken May 24, 2018.

Bathgate,

It's an easy tree to grow and keep small. This one seems to have a lot of yellow leaves in spring...not sure why.

I cook with the fresh leaves a lot. The leaves are generally not dried because it looses its flavor.
