Promisse for 2013 (Persea Americana)

I'm an avocado fan. Guacamole, avocado in salads, avocado cream with lime juice an sugar...etc. For some reason our specialist in avocados (Paulo Roberto Leite de Carvalho)says that is not possible grow avocados during the summer here. I'm a bit stubborn... so gave it a try... here is the result so far :o). Photo Taken in 02/12/2012.

Lol, agree with Brian. Shall we have here a new specialist in avocado growing? :))

LOL Katarina, my "here" is Brazil, we certainly have a nice weather for most of the plants, but, following my grandfather words....

"even the best soil can't grow everything"

The production of avocado in Brazil is 10 ton/ha, 35% "Fuerte" and 65% "hass". In Paulo's words, our summer is not apropriate for avocados, hence, the production goes from February to November.

I have no idea how long it takes to get the tree to bear fruits, right now I'm just concerned about the tree grows in a pot, as I don't have a garden :)

You can grow in on the balcony in a pot :))
When I said "here", I meant "on this webpage of gardeners". I am also foreigner :)
