Paris japonica - 2014

Paris japonica - 2014 (Paris japonica)

For fertile, leafy soil, in a cool position in full or part shade. Grows anything from one to almost three feet high, according to happy it is. This grows from a rhizome; once planted, don't move it! And protect from slugs. Apart from that, it's easy!!

That is pretty. Have to look for it.

This is a rare plant Klahanie, so you may have trouble tracking it down. I bought it from a small specialist nursery here in the UK.

Reminds me of trillium. Is it a relative? Looks like you have a baby plant next to it, does it seed itself?

Klahanie - both paris and trilliums are members of trilliaceae, so there is a botanic connection. This was only planted two years ago and didn't flower for me last year, so I think it's a second shoot rather than a seedling.
