lovely both of them-the leaves are really interesting aswell, yes i can see the parrot beaks :-) are they oriental and need hot weather? :)

17 Jun, 2012

From the Canary Isles - like hot weather, but can be over-wintered in a frost free greenhouse.

17 Jun, 2012

i only have a mini greenhouse-do they have the same effect? :)

17 Jun, 2012

Not really, but they're good in the shed.
They are good for hardier plants though.

17 Jun, 2012

if i put my g.h in the shed then cud i grow more tender things in it over winter? :-)

17 Jun, 2012

You could store them (if the shed has a window). Start off with borderline hardy such as this.
Fuchsias would be good in it too - look for Thallia as a good starter.

17 Jun, 2012

ooooooh i like that one ~ tongues of fire!!!

17 Jun, 2012

My favourite annual plant - looks exotic but is easy!

18 Jun, 2012

It does rather like it coming from the Canary Isles!

18 Jun, 2012

I wish they would write on the plant labels where they originate from ~ it helps a lot to imagine them where they are really happy.

maybe if i ever move i might have one of these, best stick to my ferns, hostas, welsh poppies!!!! and look in on your photos for the rest!!!

18 Jun, 2012

It would be a good idea actually!!

18 Jun, 2012

Meanie:

What horrible news! I hope your day is better tomorrow!

19 Jun, 2012

Reckon that there are ways to make a few quid from it now!
Our insurers have assured the owner that they will insist on it being repaired to his satisfaction, and will fight the drivers insurers all the way.
