I've just bought one, not planted yet...does it prefer semi-shade, D?

Hi KF, I bought 2, and grow both in full sun but Lithodora diffusa 'Heavenly Blue' and 'Star' had different sets of growing instructions!
'Star' said Excellent for an open, sunny position with an acidic soil in a scree garden or raised bed, drought-tolerant. So 'Star' is in my raised scree garden which gets very hot and dry but offers no real root protection.
The other set of instruction said grow in nutrient rich soil with large stones nearby to keep the roots cool. So 'Heavenly Blue' is planted in a bed besides a path and along side large pieces of thick slate in rich soil (not acidic) and that has really taken off, again very hot situation but the roots are protected from the worst of the heat. I posted a photo of Lithodora diffusa 'Heavenly Blue' on 1st May.

Thanks, D...
...I think I've got the jist...

...mine is just a wee plant from a market stall...
...but...I have to barrow all those rocks back across from where I barrowed them to...to shade its roots!!

(Sigh)...c'est la vie...lol! ;)))

It will be worth the effort as both mine started as very small plants.

I have these too - do they prefer the cooler weather?
