...or leucanthemum vulgare ?

28 Jun, 2011

I found once I divided it, they no longer stood up and become very straggly. It did not happen until I divided the original one after I had it about 9 years? Any tips?

Perhaps where you replanted it was too fertile? They seem to stand up best when hungry - mine grow in meadow grass so completely unfertilised.

You may well be right Wagger thanks.

I've got these - I thought they were marguerites!

28 Jun, 2011

I think marguerites are Argyranthemums and they do have a type with daisies like this but the foliage is different and greyer and they are not hardy in the uk.

Mine aren't marguerites then! the foliage is dark green and they're about 3' tall but they're fully hardy and come back in the same spot every year. I'll just call them 'very tall daisies'!!!!

If it's 3' tall it's probably Leucanthemum x superbum.
