Sixpence:

Yes. They are so very elegant! Kentia palms are some of my favorite palms. It's a very widely used palm for indoors in the U.K. They call it Kentia or Parlor palm.

Sixpence:

I've heard Howea fosteriana is very, very expensive in the U.K.

They can be pricey depends where you shop for them and how big like all things they go on size lol.

It's the same here...large trees like these posted are sold by trunk foot. Sometimes they're almost $300.00 per trunk foot. Very expensive!

Yes, that's a lot! There's some deals to be had during the great recession, though. :>)

At least there is an upside to a recession then Andy :o))

I have one about the size of the taller plants. I planted it in 1992. Has a larger trunk then those as its a single. And,the trunk is very green as its in the shade of the house..and the fronds are up in the sun.
One thing people don't bring up about these palms?..They are beyond beautiful on a windy day,the whipping sound of the fronds and the way they will all lay on each other in graceful layers. I had a few photos of them doing that. The pics got deleted by accident...try this winter again!

The taller ones are about 28' tall. These Kentias get a lot of hot sun. They would look better in some semi-shade.

Yes, this palm is beautiful swaying in the wind. It's very wind-tolerant...being native to Lord Howe Island (where they get lots of wind).
