Heuchera 'Autumn Leaves'

Heuchera 'Autumn Leaves' (Heuchera)

I bought three Heucheras to fill gaps on the stream bank. I can't believe that there are STILL spaces!

Just lovely....

Slowly but surely these beauties are hooking me! This is a gorgeous colour, I think I could find a space for it ;)

I haven't seen this one, its lovely, but I do have Licorice. One of the first ones I ever bought and its a beautiful plant, love it.

31 Jul, 2011

Bought this too yesterday Spritz...it's a little darker than yours, but will change gradually....lovely Heuchera....

I did have 'Licorice', but sadly, it wilted last week, and I discovered the dreaded vine weevil in the pot - so the pot had to be tipped out and new compost put in, plus new plants for the rest of the summer. :-((

I thought this one would be a good match for Rosa 'Hot Chocolate', so that's where it's planted.

Watch out, Karen - they're addictive too! ;-)

31 Jul, 2011

i like the sound of that hot chocolate spritz.

31 Jul, 2011

I'm sure I posted a photo of it, Sticki. If I didn't, I will. :-)

Just checked - the photo is on the 4th line down on my photo page.

Hot Chocolate is nice and dark...and I also bought a couple of weeks ago, Plum Pudding, quite dark, and gorgeous...Also if you see it Can Can...now that is nice...

31 Jul, 2011

Oh ok, I'm off to look, thank you.

31 Jul, 2011

Crissue - I have 'Can-can' and I agree, I like it. :-)

You're welcome, Sticki. I think you'll approve.

31 Jul, 2011

Well I did, it's lovely but stupidly it took me a while cos I was looking for heuchera hot chocolate!!

31 Jul, 2011

Oooh! I don't think there is one - yet!

31 Jul, 2011

Wouldn't you love to be working in the research area and create new plants?

31 Jul, 2011

Lovely, very similar to our Sweet Tea........

31 Jul, 2011

Yes, I saw that, but this one just had the 'edge' - it's slightly more tawny. I put them side by side before I chose this one, with the other colours on the bank in mind...

Wow Spritz - that's beautiful! I can't get over how many varieties of Heuchera there are . . . have you ever counted?!

5 Aug, 2011

I wouldn't like to try Sheila...we'd need a seperate Garden just to house them all...:o))

You could always look at some websites from Heuchera specialists like Vicky's. She hasn't been on here much lately - I expect she's busy at the shows.

5 Aug, 2011

Thanks! I tried searching under "vicky profile" but there's no sign of a website . . . maybe there's more than one Vicky?

5 Aug, 2011

Her name on here is 'Vicky1' and I found her website on her page. If you have problems, try googling 'Plantagogo'. ;-)

5 Aug, 2011

Thank you, I will. :))

Been and had a look on Vicky's site...excellent variety of plants...My problem is the postage for France starts at £23.00. so that's out of the question for me...
I'm sure you'll find Heucheras that take your fancy...there are some real Crackers...:o))) £6.00. each...then add your postage...

She wins gold medals at all the big shows- well deserved. Her plants are excellent! I got a 'Berry Smoothie' at Malvern last year from her, and it's a terrific plant.

6 Aug, 2011

I agree Spritz...They hold the Gold Merit award for their Heucheras...I also found one that I thought was named something else in my Garden...and have now got the correct name for it, which I'm pleased about, but I did see a few that I fell in love with too....I shall just have to watch for them in the GC's...or Nursery...

7 Aug, 2011

I expect they'll get to you eventually - 'Berry Smoothie' was a new one not so long ago, and I saw it in GCs this summer, so it's out and about now. Imust have another browse to see what's new now. :-)))

:o))

Vicky and Richard at Plantagogo Nursery are the holders of the National Heuchera Collection. There are over 200 varieties and still growing.

25 Aug, 2011

Hi Spritz...just an update on my Autumn Leaves...the new growth is appearing now, and shows a similar colour to yours, which is how it should be...
Also have Obsidian, which I got from a Nursery near to us on mail order...Has just produced two flower stems, which is a bonus...:)))

25 Aug, 2011

That's really good! :-))
