Bear Root (Hedysarum mackenzii)

Hedysarum mackenzii, this is the toxic form of H. as the non-toxic H.alpinum and H.hedysaroides both are of the most prevelant wild food sources in alaska, called the indian potato. This is one of the most common of our wild flowers.
