I think that's what's known as 'Christmas confusion' Crissue! ;) honestly, the times I've almost done that, or had to go back and check that I've put the right name in! :))

oops sorry about that Spritz, and I haven't had any Xmas cheer honest...Still lovely...:)))

LOL. That's the first time I've been called Hywel! ;-)

They're very pretty flowers - maybe I should cut them and enjoy them indoors, but they probably wouldn't last very long. :-(

Might be worth a try, though, Spritz. let the plants settle in to their dormancy and gain some strength. their stems react much like tulips when put in a vase...old florist trick is to use a short piece of fine florist wire and insert it into the pedicel...allows trapped air in the long stem to escape and helps support the flowerhead. I've done this with tulips but never with gerbera...so can't vouch 100% success. You have such a long growing season...and you make good use of it! :-)

Lovely! Got a white one from John Hoyland after he'd recommended it in "Gardens Illustrated" - he advised me to keep it in the greenhouse. Must go and see if it's still flowering . . .

Is it one of the 'Everlast' ones, or a newly-bred 'Garvinea'? I planted four 'Garvinea' ones this year, as they're supposed to be even hardier than the 'Everlast' plants. We'll see.

Ahh, sounds good. Yes mine is a Gerbera 'Everlast' and still has a few white flowers; greenhouse still quite cosy!

That should behave like my pink one then. Don't let it grow too 'soft', will you?

OK, thanks for the advice Barbara.

It really is - especially as I can see it from the garden room window - I'm not going outside in this gale - it was difficult walking Henry in it this morning.

thats very pretty and it clearly likes your garden conditions.

i wouldnt bring them in doors as they will 'go over' very quickly.

You're right - the roses I cut for indoors flopped after a couple of days. :-(
