Dombeya wallichii - Tropical Hydrangea or Pink Ball Tree

Dombeya wallichii - Tropical Hydrangea or Pink Ball Tree (Dombeya wallichii - Tropical Hydrangea)

My Pink Ball tree bloomed this year, last year was the first time it didn't flower in the many years I've had it. It's a winter-flowering tree which has extremely large flower clusters. Unfortunately, my plant is in a pot and is very rot-bound. Typically, the flowers are three times this size and the flower smell like strawberry cake or ice cream. Photo taken Feb. 5, 2018.

Never see them for sale locally. They are like tropical Hydrangeas as I recall.

Yes, Tropical Hydrangea is the common name. It's commonly for sale here. It's widely planted here; however, not super common.
