Cirsium rivulare 'Atropurpureum' - 2012

Cirsium rivulare 'Atropurpureum' - 2012 (Cirsium rivulare 'Atropurpureum')

Popular with the garden designers at the Chelsea Flower Show, this will still be flowering at the end of the summer. However, it's a bit of a coarse plant so probably best in not too prominent a position

Hi Andrewr, I planted Cirsium Rivulare Atro. May 2010 but it never flowered - in fact I haven't seen it since! Your pic.reminded me how good it looks so I might try again.

Linmar - mine is planted in full sun in soil where I improved the drainage with grit

Hi Andrewr,
My Cirsium R was in sun but I think more grit in soil might be the answer.
Thanks for that, Linmar
