I'm thinking of planting one in my garden (zone 9). Is it a hardy? Fast-growing? Does it need a lot of water? How old should it be to start flowering?

Convr:

It's hardy to zone 9b or 25 degrees F./ -3 degrees C. from what I've read. This tree doesn't get exposed to freezing temps here in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA.

This tree is fast growing and is very drought tolerant.
