Wow! I wonder if I'll live long enough to see mine this big!

They bloom and become a pretty large tree here. Soon you should have tons of fruit developing.

It will look incredible with all the fruit on!

It'll look like a Christmas tree with all the red berries.

It will! :)) I absolutely love them. Mine is just starting to flower now. I would like another one for a pot on my patio. I must keep an eye open for a good one.

That looks lovely

Cottagekaren:

I've never seen them used in a pot. They typically become a very large tree here in San Diego, CA. They grow very fast here in our subtropical climate (even without a lot of water).

Lol! Yes, I can imagine. And there's a big one at Crathes Castle on Deeside. But they grow very slowly up here. They could stay in a pot for....oh, probably 10 years, especially the compact form.

Wow! That's a long time to be in a pot.

Thanks for your comments....the flowers are dropping now. Just waiting for the fruits to turn red..

I wonder if you could do an Arbutus Bonsai....now there's a thought! :))

We have one with pink flowers also, and it has grown away quite quickly.....

Dottydaisy2:

Why are the flowers dropping?

9 Oct, 2014

The high winds are knocking them off the branches, it looks as if it has been snowing on the lawn!!

9 Oct, 2014

Wow! Sounds like it's been stormy.

We're still in the middle of summer! LOL! It feels like the middle of summer, anyway...hot days and warm nights.

Wet, wet, wet here and more of it to come.......

13 Oct, 2014

Please, please, please send some rain to San Diego...we are extremely desperate for rain!
