I am really thrilled with it melchi, thanks!

23 Aug, 2013

Very special with the dark foliage.

23 Aug, 2013

yes, that's what makes is special K, thanks! I've placed it beneath Cotinus 'Grace' which is a combo I cannot wait to develop next summer....so exciting! :)

23 Aug, 2013

I love how you put a thought into your plantings Karen, you have some interesting combinations,

23 Aug, 2013

beautiful lovely colours :O)

23 Aug, 2013

Thank you both!

23 Aug, 2013

Gorgeous.....

23 Aug, 2013

Gorgeous, and great idea for a combo :))

24 Aug, 2013

How tall is your cotinus, Karen?

29 Aug, 2013

Just for interest, Mouldy, in case you'd like to compare . . our Cotinus is 6'6" and is more than 20 years old.

29 Aug, 2013

This one is about 4' tall and in it's second year. My golden one has been in 6 years, has never been pruned and is about 5'. A lot depends on which variety you grow. 'Young Lady' never gets very tall.

29 Aug, 2013

I was hoping about 20 -25 feet tall, as I want to grow some shade loving plants next spring.
Thanks anyway, ladies!
Oh, well, back to the drawing board. Lol.
Faboulous blooms, incidently, Karen.
They're real knockouts!

1 Sep, 2013

yes, I think I will be lifting this one tomorrow, before it gets it's roots into the earth.

1 Sep, 2013

Don't you wait for the 1st frost?

1 Sep, 2013

We're moving house Mouldy. I'm lifting all my favourite plants in preparation. Our house is going on the market next week.

1 Sep, 2013

Well, happy move, or whatever is the appropriate expression.
I hope you 'n' your's are happy in your new home!
Don't forget to say goodbye to each & every room, will you?
That way the tears flow & the house knows you cared.
Very important.
Funny how some grown men cry more than their partner, during that routine. ;-)
I wonder if the new occupants will lavish as much love & attention on the garden?
Let's hope so, eh?

1 Sep, 2013

It's best not to think about it once you're gone I think Mouldy. In my last house I did go around saying goodbye in every room...once every one else had gone and I was by myself cleaning up the last bits of dust etc. that was the home we had our children in and our youngest was 13 when we came here. Now they are both grown up and moving on, and this house needs a new brood of kids. It's a great place for a young family. Us oldies need a bit more peace and seclusion now. So we can think!

1 Sep, 2013

I was in the removal game for a couple of years & would take the lady of the house on her round of cheerios...sometimes the guys, too.
Sort of dotting the 'i's & crossing the 't's'.
My collegues shook their heads, at 1st.
Surprising how many times the customer would use us, stipulating that I had to be part of the removal team.
The only times I hated the job was when a 'chain' collapsed!
Seclusion, for me, will occur the night my lottery numbers come home.
Me & how many others? Lol.

Oh Karen, you are NOT AN OLDIE!! Are you going far? Will you be nearer to your daughter?? Good luck, and I hope it all goes smoothly for you. x

2 Sep, 2013

No, we won't be going far. Our plan is to move to a more rural setting in this area. The house we have our eyes on is about 6 miles nearer to Dundee on a busy country road, surrounded by fields and a hill and with a bus route for when we are doddery! lol! You have to think ahead about these things you know!

2 Sep, 2013

Doddery?
PURLEEEASE, don't make me laugh!
You'll grow old disgracefully. Lol.

2 Sep, 2013

Lol....I hope so, but yesterday, when I was speaking with our solicitor, she asked me if the house we fancy is on a bus route! She took the wind right out of my sails!! I'll be giving her some cheek when she comes here this afternoon....I mean....bus route....I'm 50! Lol!

3 Sep, 2013

Are you moving down south where it's warmer Karen!!

3 Sep, 2013

Blimey, Keith, if it gets any warmer than here today and yesterday I'll have to move further North! ;)

3 Sep, 2013

Hot is when it hits 35°c Karen!!!

3 Sep, 2013

Oh no! That is just an oven! I can't cope above 30!

3 Sep, 2013

35°c?
Oh, yes, please!

4 Sep, 2013

Hope hou have a large hanky for your pate Mouldy! A knot in each corner does the job! ;)

5 Sep, 2013

Nah, I'm made of sterner stuff! Lol.

9 Sep, 2013

Sparked up the wood burner yesterday and got the front room up to 28°c by the evening! Happy days!

9 Sep, 2013

Oh, Meanie, how I envy you!
Fancy swapping it for c.h?
Nah, I didn't think you would, even for a second & can't say as I blame you. Sigh!
Lol.

9 Sep, 2013

Got central heating for when it gets really cold! With three storeys I need all the heat that I can get!!!

9 Sep, 2013

Keith! Do you sit in the scud!? how can you sit in that heat? I thought we were bad enough setting our thermostat to 21.5. One of my friends has hers at 14!! but then she's a scot, and a country one at that! Lol :)

9 Sep, 2013

Mine's switched on in the bedroom only once a week for 15 mins to take any dampness out of the room.
The window is open all year round.
The rest of the flat is like an oven in cold weather.
I love it! Lol.

9 Sep, 2013

I'm not a fan of being cold myself either....but 28C! I think Keith needs to go live in St Lucia....you'd love it Keith...glasshouses not required! :)) I love it very much...been 5 times...but I wouldn't survive living in that heat.

9 Sep, 2013

Oh, book my ticket now! Lol.
I can't stand a warm bedroom.
My body's thermostat is wonky. Instead of my temperature dropping, during sleep, it rises.
Weird, innit?

9 Sep, 2013

Main reason for getting the fire going - it heats our room up lovely! Can't sleep if I'm cold or wrapped up.

9 Sep, 2013

I'm like a night storage heater. Lol.

9 Sep, 2013

Lol....mouldy, my OH is the same...so is daughter...both sweaty sleepers!

9 Sep, 2013

That's why I need my bedroom window open all year round.
We're cheaper than leccy blankets or water bottles. Lol.

9 Sep, 2013

Wish that I was! I'm in a TOG 13 quilt even in the summer!

9 Sep, 2013

Goodness Meanie...that's cald tattie!

9 Sep, 2013

Cald feet, a na.
Circulation?
