Aechmea fasciata

Aechmea fasciata (Aechmea fasciata)

My Aechmea fasciata under the Jacaranda tree is blooming. This plant has been there for years...it blooms pretty much every other year. Photo taken Aug. 26, 2014.

It usually takes two years (every other summer) to bloom, from the pups developed after the original stems blooms.
