What dreadful people you Goys are....!

I only found this website about 18 hours ago, and instead of going out into my garden to all the mountains of work that is needed, I have spent HOURS sitting in front of my computer trawling fascinating blogs and comments and getting very emotional (I actually shed tears) over the wonderful pictures of flowers and gardens. You’ve been making me feel terribly homesick! Here we may have long, sunny summers and incredible scenery, amazing wildlife, thousands of wildflowers in spring, cuckoos in March and nightingales in June, but today I have found myself longing for the late afternoon air in a rainwashed English garden. You are a bad, bad influence! Thank you all so much. Please keep it up.

Awww Gattina, did you not read the warning in the fine print when you signed up? Highly addictive GoY is :)
Seriously though, very nice blog and welcome to GoY.

Oh that is funny ..... because I have been doing the same thing .... except I have been at it for several days since discovering GoY! And I have been so inspired, that when I am not at work, & not on GoY, I am trawling through NZ online nurseries & my wish list is getting to a ridiculous length! LOL. From a fellow newcomer & addict, welcome to GoY .... & yes, looking at all the pics of beautiful English gardens at first made me homesick, as I spent a good deal of my adult life living in England. However, suddenly I have become enthused with national pride, & as well as all the usual lovely plants I would have had in my garden in England, I find myself searching for exotic native NZ plants to put in as well.

Life will never be the same again Gattina.
And I must warn you never look at GoY when you've got something cooking. You will surely end up with burnt offerings, or nearly set the kitchen on fire like I did once !
I'm glad you're enjoying it so much. It's nice to have your company :o)

Lol! Welcome to Goy, Gattina. Heed Hywell's warning...and also never put off cooking for another 'ten minutes' on here...or it'll be beans on toast - again!!!! :)))

And to think I was feeling guilty for sitting here at half past ten on a Monday morning. Welcome Gattina.
All I sat down for was to send someone a private message but for some reason I couldn't find the right link to click, and I'm still here. Perhaps we should form a Goyers Anonymous!

So pleased you are enjoying being on GOY, i was just the same as you when i first came on here, was spending 24/7 on here, but not getting anything else done :))

Ah yes, the old GoY addiction, we all know that one, I think, lol! Often in the winter I'm on here, desperately waiting to see if anyone's going to post a question or something so I can get engaged with it and put off (yet again) some boring piece of housewifery...

And to Dwyllis - I planted a garden here in West London about 5 years ago, and probably more than 50% of the plants I used originated in New Zealand, with a couple from Australia thrown in... but you'll have more choice than we do here, because our winters are worse I believe.

It's a problem, many happy hours can be wasted. On the other hand it is inspiring and I have also taken many more photos this year which I can refer to next year. Some of them even make it onto here...I'll spend the winter organising them. Ha ha.

I knew you would all agree that work comes second to GoY,and don't forget ladies and gents, that is important to keep the fingers supple and all the typing stops them from seizing up ..we are saving the NHS a fortune in Physiotherapy!! Lol.

oh yes didnt think of that bloomer, dusting is bad for you anyway, housework is a trial, wish i could get a cleaner in, a gardener for the heavy work, oh and an odd job man, would be happy then, just sit on laptop all day.

I have all those,Cazcat...a versatile OH.! Lol...and he has no interest whatsoever in my laptop....its mine, all mine ! :o))...What could be better than that ? ..I do feed him well though.Lol.

Ooh Cazcat, wouldn't that be great - a lady wot does, an odd job man, a chauffeur, and perhaps a couple of fit tree surgeons occasionally just to watch them at work - sigh, my idea of heaven...
