Thank you girlies. It is beautiful isn't it? I inherited it with the house. How do they cope when pruned back heavily? Only I want to paint the wood that it is climbing over in the Spring.
Oh wow! I have a plant in the GYOpedia! :-) What a nice start to Sunday morning.

hi tink if you have to cut back or prune then after flowering about april is a good time, hope that helps ;o))

Hi. Haven't been on for ages! Yes that does help. It's looking a bit unhappy this year, probably because of the heavy snow. I am going to prune it back because I want to retrain it as it grew a bit wild and hangs too low over a large bit of the patio.Thought I might try weaving the stems into a kind of plait. I've seen it done and it looks fantastic but don't know whether it will work with Freckles. Still it'll be fun and a bit of an adventure. Did you have a good Xmas? ;o)

Can anyone tell me what this is please. Apart from beautiful of course! It's a climber and it flowers at this time of year and then turns into fluffy balls.
