i soo love tree ferns. mine have survived the snow i can feel the new fronds down inside the crown....

Do you have Tasmanian tree ferns? Those are usually the hardiest species.

This species of dwarf tree fern is very tropical and will die if the temperature goes below 30 degrees F. / -1 degree C. or if it dries out too long.

we call them new zealand tree ferns...probably the same as your tasmanian...dicksonia antartica

It is probably Dicksonia squarrosa which is another hardy tree fern...this tree fern grows in California also. Do the fronds die-back in cold weather? I know they are a hardy tree fern, however, usually not to snow though.
