Thanks for your comment - this was inside the castle walls, i walked past it on the way to the actual show ground.

I think it was some kind of metal, i'm not sure (i didn't like to touch it to try to work that out, but i was curious).

Yes, i thought it was metal - it looked too thin for wood, i think.
