this one is going on my "must find" list.

I had this from Dibbleys nurseries a couple of years ago. It's a nice plant. Didn't win here, but it's smaller than a most entries which seems to make a difference, i think.

To me size shouldn't matter but who knows what goes through a judge's head.

I think it depends on the judge.
I did quite well at Shrewsbury, some of my plants doing better than some that were bigger. But often a larger plant will win over a smaller one, even when the smaller one is obviously a better plant.

Hmmm, doesn't seem fair somehow.

Sometimes it doesn't, you're right. But the enjoyment is in the growing of the plants, to the best of my ability, and to keep trying to improve on them (i know if they are better than last years, whatever the judge says) and then the experience of showing them, seeing them at the show, and knowing that others at the show can see for themselves what the plant i have grown has achieved - people can see for themselves, whatever the judge says. I like to look at all the plants in the class and decide for myself which should have won, or sometimes the judge is right. You never know which judge you'll get, and if they have personal preferences that will sway their judgement (which, of course it shouldn't, if they are being proffesional about it).
