Wild Helianthus

Wild Helianthus (Helianthus petiolaris)

Vacationing in my home town, wild sunflowers along the river, all hot and dry country, temp rising to 37C down in the valley country. These stand in a deep sandy delta at the base of a ravine in the mountainside, probably getting water at every rain. :-)

Thank you Aleyna. :-)

This does grow there with the penstemon, but this is north hundreds of miles.

I have your wild penstemon photos on my favourites. I hope you'll be able to take more pics. of those some time when you visit that area further north. :o)

I'll remember TT. I haven't been there for a few years, but a sister still lives in the valley. I'll get there again. :-) I love that canyon, my grandfathers old way up to the range land.
