Summer Heathers have to be amongst the best value plants I have bought, these are flowering for the fourth year in this container all i ever do is give them a haircut and a feed after flowering,will they go another year who knows.

No reason why you could not grow them in a container useing lime free compost the same as the one shown.

There are tall varieties pick ones that look compact also it is important to go over them with scissors and cut them back below the dead flower heads soon after the flowers start dying and feed ericaceous food.

Fantastic, Brian and congratulation.Another reason why I consider you to be a big gardener. Mine always die, weather I put them on the full sun or in shade, fertilise them and cut them after blooming. The reason I donĀ“t know.

To me they seem to require so little attention,but I dont live where you do and that could make all the difference.
Location location i think you would never believe how difficult it is for me to grow a Rose in my garden or a Clematis they need a 24 hour watch.
