Another space to fill!

Another space to fill!

I dug out some more Jap. Anemones - but left a clump of phlox.

Lots of nice texture... what are you going to fill the gaps with?

Oh Amy - tell me about it! I shall use weedkiller on the unwanted ones. I had to last year, when new shoots appeared right in the middle of the obelisk, between the climbing rose and two Clematis! I couldn't dig there, so I watered them with my bright red can labelled 'W.K''!! That worked. :-))

Hi Angie - sorry, we crossed there!

In the space left, is a clump of Phlox - so that can stay. I moved a whole lot of Lysimachia ciliata back, and there are little bulbs in between the plants. I also planted all my 'Beth Chatto' plants, but they're not really visible.

I've left a space for Crocosmia 'Emily McKenzie' corms, which I'm hoping to find in the spring.

mmmmm sounds very nice... i am hoping the wether is not going to be bad tomorrow so i can go out and get a few bits done... i have some new babies to plant, tree lilies - 2 types, Athyrium one red one burgandy for my woodland bed... which needs a good digging over and a bit of shuffling before i can do that, and my much waited for Acanthus spinosus... or AKA next door cat's deter.... i am hoping anyway, the blasted thing as poohed all in my front garden again..... it really gets on my nerves.....

I've got some new Lily bulbs that arrived yesterday - I shall have to find out how to plant them! They're tall ones - like tiger lilies, only yellow.

are they different from the others with regards to planting Spritz? I just dig a hole and put um in..approx 2 x depth of bulb, OG obvioulsy.. this is a good time to do it... works for me... my tree lilies will hopefully be going in today.. :-)

I just looked in the catalogue - they're 'Tigrinum' lilies. Is that the same as 'tree lilies', Angie? As the soil is so wet, I thought I'd put a trowel-ful of grit in the planting holes.
