Hello dottydaisy! It is hardy in my garden which is protected by walls and in town - last year I movedit tho, the moved bit didn't survive but come spring it sprouted up from its original site! And this is what you see in the pic. Today it looks ok just a bit droopy in the rain, some new leaves which were coming out are still there. If you want to find out more try and get hold of Christopher Lloyd's Exotic Planting book (libraries usually have it) as that's where I first saw it - then I bought it from Desert to Jungle at West Hatch near Taunton!
Good luck if you get one, fab plant.
