Petaltracey, the photo doesn't do the Phlox much justice, as the colour is so bright - when the sun is on it, if you look at it too long, your eyes hurt - if you know what I mean :))))

I know just what you mean Helenium... It can be just so frustrating!!! Especially when I'm photographing my floristry work, and this happens! :o(

Thanks Janey, I like shades of purple they're my favourite colours, those and shades of blue. I used the lighter shade of purple in the inside with the dark purple surround so it would stand out more. I really wanted a dark violet/grape purple but just couldn't find any. On the inner lighter purple I've planted a dark purple Clematis :))
