Layering the turf

Starting to layer up the turf to create the beginning of the terrace. The retaining wall goes in front of this built from reclaimed wood from a neighbours skip as they were replacing their decking with a patio.
You can see the fence before the gate went in - the way the fence posts had been put in it was crying out for a gate in that space between the narrowest posts and it's so handy to nip straight out of the garden instead of having to go all the way around the front of the house each time.
