We had this last Monday.

That's a mighty heavy frost Tetrarch! Today we drove to Brechin for lunch...it was great to see some green and other colours than white as quite a lot of the snow has gone now....it was a beautiful clear sunny day too. I don't want to see any more heavy hoar frost or snow for a little while now.....

I always worry about the horses this weather Lulu, if they out of doors..remember years ago Pat Smythe had a promising jumper called Bridgidoon, who slipped on the snow and broke a leg. But guess tbs will be indoors.

I remember the incident well.

Really DD? Im hard put to find anyone who remembers her these days. I went to her funeral. Sad day, and bitterly cold up on the banks.

All tbs outside, except ones in pre training. Oh and a mare who is due to foal in a week, she comes in to barn where we can keep an eye on her on the monitor! 6 foals due this year.

Dear god Lulu, that would worry the life out of me...Im a real worrit...couldnt take the strain..Im too soft and have too much imagination! Good job I never owned a horse..I wouldve killed it with central heating lol! Well not quite perhaps...
You are going to have your work cut out with 6 foals! Do you get involved with the early handling?

Tet that shows you how old I am, Prince Hal and Tosca were some of her horses, she was very well known.

12 Jan, 2011

She was my hero DD, she was amazingly hard working, had no money and yet still made it to the top in a sport dominated by mainly military men at the time. She and her groom, Pauline suffered unimaginable hardships while travelling the world, no special facilities for women..often no facilities at all..she was the best and deserved it!
Tosca had some lovely foals, but nothing measured up to that gutsy little mare!
