Vinca major (Greater Periwinkle) produces attractive clear blue flowers up to 4 cm across in spring. The glossy evergreen leaves make very good groundcover in shady areas. The plant spreads by rooting wherever the trailing stems touch the ground. It will also climb up into low woody shrubs.
