It was a great surprise to find the globes had exploded in to this wonderful new flower. They are massive. They were very easy to grow from seed.

I love it! You've created a wonderful arrangement here! I have to add a artichoke to my list this spring, try my luck. If this is early picking, I should have enough season to try it. I've got a cardoon too, already set aside.

Neither did I. I wanted the tight globes to feature in flower arrangements but these dominate any arrangement. You only need one. Used with lavendar or statice they make a lovely display.

Edible Perennial Thistle suitable for a herbaceous border. Picked at the green globe stage and hung upside down in a paper bag this is what happened during the drying process.
