That's a dainty one.

I am chuffed with this Dahlia collection, having fallen out with Hayloft after their Dianthus collection didn't come to much in my garden. They have redeemed themselves!

That’s good news Shirley. Hayloft’s plants do vary, but their customer service is excellent! This is a lovely one 🙂.

Thanks Sheila. Some years ago we spoke to one of the 'Hayloft girls' when they had a plant sales stand at RHS Malvern. Lovely, friendly lady!

That's perfect S.T. I'm very nervous of buying from online companies these days after having such terrible experiences from a couple of I would have expected better from. Hayloft seems to better and a past member (Gattina) picked up an order from us when she came to the UK and they all looked really strong and healthy. Perhaps I should give them a try.

Thanks Kate, it is currently my OH's favourite flower in the garden!

Julia, it was only when I saw a Penstemon collection advertised in a newspaper or magazine that I ordered on-line. I usually like to see, in the flesh so to speak, what I'm buying!

I remember Gattina ... does she still live in Italy?

As far as I know, Gattina still lives in Italy … we used to write to each other quite a bit and very nearly arranged to meet out there!

Gattina (Jan) does still live in Italy. We write to each other regularly and I've been out to stay with her in her beautiful home in Italy a couple of times.

Sheila, shame you didn't get to visit her in Italy.

How lovely for you Julia . . . :o)

That’s great to hear Julia … hope Jan is happy?

She has a problems with depression and her health could be better. She lost Peter, her husband a couple of years ago and that didn't help. She is trying to sell her house so she can move nearer civilisation, but it's difficult at the moment and it would take a certain kind of person to want it.
I'll tell her you were asking after her. xx

Oh thank you very much Julia, that’s so thoughtful. I’m really glad that you’re still in touch with Jan 🙂.

A perfect bloom.

Thanks Josie - how's the weather with you today? It's pretty windy down here near the coast . .. :o(

It was rainy & a bit breezy Shirley. My family came to visit & we were hoping to be dining in the pub garden, but not to be. Still, we did have a nice time, then home to play Scrabble

At least you managed to enjoy the family time . . . :o)
